Teenage racers Saishiva Sankaran and Bhuvan Bonu underlined their growing stature in Indian motorsport on Saturday, winning their respective categories in the second round of the MRF Indian National Racing Challenge 4W-2026 at the Madras International Circuit.
Saishiva, the 18-year-old from Pune, claimed the MRF Formula 2000 race to register his fourth consecutive victory of the season, extending a run that has quickly made him one of the standout performers in the championship. In the Formula 1600 category, 16-year-old Bhuvan Bonu from Visakhapatnam delivered another composed drive to secure his third straight win, adding to the double he had completed in the opening round last month.
The day's other major storyline came in the Formula LGB 1300 Open class, where Nellore's Viswas Vijayaraj continued his unbeaten season and led a clean sweep for DTS Racing. In a field that featured a sizeable grid of 24 cars, Viswas held firm to take victory and keep his perfect record intact, while his teammates Liron Jaden Samuels and T.S. Diljit completed an all-DTS podium.
The results reflected both individual consistency and team strength across the categories. In the provisional MRF Formula 2000 Race-1 over eight laps, Saishiva finished in 12:52.987, narrowly ahead of Ishaan Madesh, who crossed the line in 12:53.390. Krishay Gutte took third in 13:02.171. In the Formula LGB 1300 Open class, Viswas Vijayaraj delivered a winning time of 03:54.047 over two laps. Liron Jaden Samuels, also representing DTS Racing, finished second in 03:55.174, while T.S. Diljit was close behind in 03:55.260. The result gave DTS Racing a dominant presence on the podium and highlighted the depth within the team's lineup.
The Junior section of the Formula LGB 1300 category produced another competitive finish. Kaveen Diyyan Rajapaksa of Momentum Motorsports won in 04:02.111, ahead of Pranav Ramasamy of Tiruppur, racing for DTS Racing, who clocked 04:05.547. Shatveer Shetty, also from Momentum Motorsports, took third in 04:05.604.
