Bangkok Flood Crisis Deepens as Thailand Declares Disaster Zone and Civil Service Holiday
Bangkok is grappling with one of its most disruptive flood episodes in years after days of heavy downpours overwhelmed drainage systems, forced evacuations and prompted Thailand to declare parts of the capital a disaster zone. With rain easing but water still standing in low-lying districts, the government has ordered a two-day civil service holiday to reduce travel and ease pressure on emergency response.
