16.18 Lakh Form 6 Applications Filed During Uttar Pradesh Enumeration Phase, CEO Says
Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said 16.18 lakh Form 6 applications were filed during the Special Intensive Revision enumeration phase, pushing back against a report by The Reporters' Collective that alleged the voter-registration forms had been added mysteriously and without disclosure of applicants' names. Rinwa said the applications were part of the official electoral process and were being handled through established procedures. The exchange has sharpened scrutiny of voter-roll management in India's most populous state, where even routine registration data can quickly become a political flashpoint.
