Iran Finishes Rail Laying on Chabahar-Zahedan Link, Advancing Indiaโs Overland Access to Central Asia
Iran has completed rail laying on the long-delayed Chabahar-Zahedan line, a strategic freight corridor expected to strengthen the port of Chabahar as a gateway to Afghanistan and Central Asia. The project, targeted for commissioning by January 2027, could reduce Indiaโs dependence on longer maritime routes and deepen the commercial logic of the International North-South Transport Corridor.
