NOAA Flags Moderate Geomagnetic Storm as Northern Lights May Reach Farther South
The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has issued a G2, or moderate, geomagnetic storm watch after multiple solar eruptions were directed toward Earth. The event could brighten auroras across parts of the northern United States tonight and into Friday, while also posing limited risks to satellites, radio communications and power-grid operations.
