Physicists Entangle a Levitating Glass Speck With Light at Room Temperature, Opening a New Quantum Path
Physicists have reported a striking experiment in which a levitating speck of glass was quantum-entangled with light at room temperature, a result that pushes delicate quantum behavior into far less controlled conditions than are typically required. The advance does not yet amount to a commercial technology, but it strengthens the case that quantum systems can be engineered in ways that may eventually support ultra-sensitive sensors, precision measurement tools, and energy-relevant materials research.
