New Magnetic State Could Rewire the Future of Electronics
Researchers have reported evidence for altermagnetism, a newly recognized magnetic state that does not fit neatly into the traditional north-south model of magnetism. The finding, emerging from work involving UCF and LSU scientists, could open a path to faster, more energy-efficient electronics and strengthen the materials base for future clean-energy technologies.
