Hawaiian Airlines Tightens Check-In Timelines as Alaska Integration Reshapes Island Travel

Hawaiian Airlines is rolling out new check-in rules and loyalty-program choices as it aligns more closely with Alaska Airlines following the carriers’ combination. The changes, which include earlier deadlines for checked bags on some interisland routes and new rewards options, are likely to affect both leisure travelers and frequent flyers across Hawaii’s island network. The operational adjustments come as Alaska begins deploying Boeing 737-800 aircraft on the Honolulu-Kahului corridor, signaling a broader shift in how the combined airline will manage capacity, boarding procedures and customer experience in the state’s tightly timed interisland market.
