Marsโ Strange โCoral Reefโ Deposits Offer Fresh Clues to the Planetโs Climate Past
New imagery and analysis of unusual Martian deposits resembling coral reefs are sharpening scientific understanding of how the Red Planetโs climate evolved over time. The formations, seen in a broad alien landscape near the south polar region, may preserve evidence of ancient environmental shifts, including periods when water, ice, and wind reshaped the surface in ways that remain only partly understood.
