Apollo, Max Healthcare Lead Hospital Stock Rally as Drug Price Caps Ease Fears
Hospital stocks climbed as much as 5% in early trade after the government capped trade margins on non-scheduled anti-cancer drugs at 30%, a move that could sharply lower prices for patients. Brokerages including Jefferies and Emkay said the earnings hit for hospital chains should be manageable, with Jefferies remaining constructive on Fortis, Manipal, Apollo, Max Healthcare and Medanta.
