New India Assurance Slips to ₹1,267 Crore Q2 Loss as Underwriting Pressures Deepen
New India Assurance Company reported a sharp net loss of ₹1,267 crore for the September quarter, reversing a profit of ₹63 crore a year earlier and underscoring mounting stress in its core insurance operations. The insurer said underwriting losses in property, motor and health segments drove the decline, even as gross written premium rose 5.14% year-on-year to ₹11,083 crore.
