Once Thought Extinct, Tiny Plant Becomes the Symbol of Wildlife Week at Kerala’s Parambikulam
A rare plant once presumed lost to science has emerged as the symbolic centrepiece of Wildlife Week at Parambikulam in Kerala, underscoring the conservation value of the Western Ghats. The exhibition has been named after Haplothismia exannulata, a minute forest species rediscovered 26 years ago after more than a century without a recorded sighting.
