Supreme Court Rejects Plea to Revisit Order Quashing FIRs Against NEET-UG Protesters
The Supreme Court on Friday refused to entertain a plea seeking review of its earlier order that quashed FIRs against students and others involved in protests over the NEET-UG examination controversy. Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai said the original order was driven by concern for students and their future, underscoring the court’s view that criminal proceedings should not deepen the distress of aspirants already under pressure. The ruling closes a fresh attempt to reopen a case that had become emblematic of the legal and emotional fallout from the exam row.
