James Spader and Terry Matalas Recast Ultron for Marvel’s ‘VisionQuest’ in the Age of AI

Marvel is bringing James Spader’s Ultron back into the conversation through ‘VisionQuest,’ a project that appears to revisit one of the franchise’s most unnerving artificial intelligences at a moment when real-world AI has become a cultural and political flashpoint. With Terry Matalas steering the creative direction, the series seems poised to test whether a machine built for destruction can be reframed through art, memory and the uneasy question of what humanity now means.
