Next 15–20 Days Critical for Rabi Sowing as Weather Volatility Threatens to Narrow Deficit

The next 15 to 20 days will be decisive for India’s Rabi sowing season, with weather conditions likely to determine whether the acreage deficit can be narrowed, according to M L Jat, director general of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. He said the weather remains highly dynamic and district-wise contingency plans for the season are being updated continuously to reflect changing field conditions.
