Congress Accuses Government of 'Rural Labour Theft' Under VB-G RAM G Scheme

The Congress on Wednesday escalated its attack on the government over the VB-G RAM G scheme, alleging that it has become a vehicle for “rural labour theft” rather than employment generation. Jairam Ramesh cited a media report claiming that while thousands of workers were shown on paper under the programme in drought-hit Maharashtra, no labourers were found at five inspected sites in Beed district.
