India May See Normal October-December Rainfall After Weak Monsoon Ends at 14th Lowest in 125 Years
India is likely to receive normal rainfall in the October-December period, even as the southwest monsoon closes with one of its weakest performances in more than a century, according to the latest meteorological assessment. The India Meteorological Department has forecast below-normal rain in October, but expects the southern peninsula to fare better, while 313 of 741 districts recorded deficient precipitation during the monsoon season.
